History of Agia Trias Barge

The Agia Trias Barge is a 30-meter-long, 9-meter-wide platform wreck lying upright at a depth of 12 meters. Located within the Dasoudi Marine Protected Area in Limassol, the wreck serves both as an artificial reef and a specialized training site for divers.

The structure includes various pipe formations specifically designed to support buoyancy and trim training. For this reason, Agia Trias is frequently used in Open Water Scuba Diver courses and refresher dives, providing new divers with a safe and effective environment to build essential skills.

To the west of the platform lies a collection of amphorae and pottery, part of a project led by the Fishery Department and Marine Research, in collaboration with Petrou & Pavlou School and Blue Thunder Diving. This unique installation attracts a variety of marine life and adds historical and educational value to the dive.

Today, Agia Trias is a trusted training ground and exploration site, offering a well-rounded dive experience that blends function, history, and biodiversity.
