Course Overview
The NAUI Wreck Penetration Diver course prepares experienced technical divers to safely enter and explore the interiors of shipwrecks. You’ll develop the knowledge, precision, and discipline required to navigate overhead environments using guidelines, redundant systems, and advanced team protocols—culminating with penetration dives inside the legendary MS Zenobia wreck.
What You’ll Learn
- Wreck diving hazards and risk management
- Wreck structure assessment and route planning
- Line deployment, guideline handling, and exit strategies
- Buoyancy, trim, and propulsion in confined spaces
- Silt-out management and zero-visibility navigation
- Redundant equipment usage and gas planning
- Emergency scenarios, including lost line and out-of-gas drills
Requirements
- Minimum Age: 18 years old
- Certification: One of the following (or equivalent):
- NAUI Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver
- NAUI Introduction to Technical Diving
- NAUI Technical Decompression Diver
- Dive Experience: Minimum 100 logged dives, including at least 10 wreck dives
- Health: Good general health (Medical form required)
